Structural Change: The term is used to describe the change in activity of a company. As an example; changing the activity from manufacturing to information processing.
Motivation
The Five Levels of Needs for Individuals Motivation Are:
1) Physiological
2) Safety
3) Social
4) Esteem/Ego
5) Self-Actualization
The above needs were identified by Abraham H. Maslow.
The Motivation-hygiene (Two-Factor) Theory: This theory was identified by Fredrick Herzberg. It states that work-related factors are grouped in two categories, namely:
1) Hygiene Maintenance Factors:
They will not produce motivation but can prevent it.
2) Motivator Factors:
These can produce and encourage motivation.
Expectancy Theory:It was developed by Victor Vroom. This theory of motivation tries to explain the behavior of individuals in terms of their goals and their expectations of reaching these goals.
Information and Management
Information Technology: The term is abbreviated to IT. The effectiveness an IT System depends on the interrelation between the following elements:
1) The task to be completed
2) The selected software to complete the task
3) The efficiency of the hardware used
4) The skills of the human operators of the IT.
International Management
Reasons to develop an international business:The reasons for starting a business on the international market are:
1) To develop a larger market expansion
2) To fill a need for additional natural resources
3) To benefit from cheaper local labor
4) To acquire a larger global market share
5) To be closer to the end user
The Managerial Career
The resume: The three formats of a resume are:
1) Chronological: This is the mostly used format. Use this format if there were a few or no gaps in your employment history
2) Functional: Use this format when there are gaps in your employment or if changed jobs in a specific period
3) Combination of the above two: Use this format when your experience has been with one company
The main purpose of a resume is to attract the interest of the reader to gain an interview. The resume should be:
1) Accurate
2) Brief
3) Designed for a specific job
Production Operations Management
Master Production Schedule: It is also known as MPS. It is a computer scheduling program to develop a complete approach to production. MPS combines and integrates individual time with materials requirement planning (MRP) and compares them to the inventory and production resources of the company (capacity requirement planning - CRP).
