On "Traveling"

"Traveling" has become easier and affordable for more and more people in last few decades. It has become one of the activities people are embracing throughout the year, and especially in summer.

Some of the reasons behind the increased trend of traveling are:

Availability of different and improved means of reliable transportation such as; bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, cars, buses, trains, ships, and airplanes.
Increase in the number and safe and reliable walking paths, roads, streets, highways, railroads, sea lanes and air lanes.
Affordable travel expenses and travel ticket prices (land, sea, air).
Availability of hotels, motels and other similar facilities to receive all types of travelers.
Presence of large number of safe and reliable service centers on land routes, where travelers can find food, water and other necessities including mechanical assistance for their bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, cars, and/or buses.
An increase in the number of people that can afford to travel due to their improved economic and financial condition and situation.
People became aware of travel and its attractiveness due to the abundance of information on the different places to visit through the easy access to newspapers, magazines, books, radio, television, cinema and the internet.
Travel became a necessity in the domain of international business and commerce.
The availability of a larger portion of the population that could afford to travel due to their improved financial position.

Inspecting the topic closely we find that, nowadays, there are many categories of travel. Some of them can be seen below:

Tourism and leisure: A large portion of travel has always fallen in this category. People traveled, for more than a hundred years, to new and different places in the world to visit historical and modern sites and monuments. They also traveled to get to know different peoples and cultures. People also traveled on holidays visit family and friends as well as to enjoy sun and sand on exotic beaches around the world.
Business: As numerous enterprises grew and became active nationally and internationally, traveling became essential for their staff to closely supervise, monitor, audit and manage their business activities.
Medical: Improved financial conditions and ease of travel made it possible for people to seek health and medical care outside their home countries. People are more and more seeking medical care where they can be served better and where they can find the latest modes of treatment for themselves and for their loved ones.
Academic: More and more young individuals are traveling to seek academic knowledge and academic degrees away from their homelands. They are traveling to the better schools and universities around the world.
Scientific: Travel is becoming more prominent in this domain. It is found in various fields of science, to mention a few:
1. Pharmaceuticals: Pharmaceutical companies and their researchers travel the world looking for new healing chemicals from animal and plant life.
2. History: Academic and research institutions send their members traveling to study the history of the different parts of the world to better understand people and events that shaped our world.
3. Archeology: Teams of specialists travel the continents to dig and unearth ancient constructions, monuments, books and artifacts to complete and understand the story of man.
4. Meteorology: Traveling to study of the weather all over the world, scientists try to understand weather and its effects on human, animal and plant life.
5. Oceanology: Scientists travel the seas to study it and its marine life. This is done to better understand this vast expanse and its economic value.
Special events: People have been traveling nowadays to exotic places to celebrate their special occasions such as:
1. Marriage ceremonies
2. Engagement ceremonies
3. Graduation celebrations and parties
4. o Spring Vacation
5. Sport events

The benefits of traveling are many. To mention some of them:

Relaxing: Leaving all personal and professional issues behind and enjoying new places and sceneries like beaches, lakes and mountains.
Learning: Traveling helps people to learn about different cultures, social customs and new places.
Networking: Travel introduces individuals to one another. It encourages forming new acquaintances and friendships. It can also create new business opportunities for businesspersons.

On the issue of travel let us not forget the well-known rule that says; travel as light as you can. Many people take with them, on their trips, a large amount of luggage most of which they do not need or use. On your vacation remember the classical recommended advice; after you pack your bags, take half of what is in them out and leave it behind

To conclude, travel is interesting, relaxing and beneficial. Enjoy it and try to make good use of it.
